Eastside City Park is one of the largest green open spaces in Birmingham City Centre. It sits a short walk east of Moor Street station, across the road from Hotel LaTour and by the campuses of Aston and Birmingham City Universities.
The park has manicured lawns for chilling out, areas for informal sports, a square with hugely popular water fountains to keep the kids happy (and wet), a performance space in the centre where music and concerts can be performed, and at the heart of the park lie Thinktank, Birmingham Science Museum, and the Science Garden making this a great destination for families. The park even comes with its very own pub, the Woodman!
The Park was completed in 2012 and became the first new city centre park in Birmingham for 130 years. Since its opening it has won a host of awards for design and management. Eastside City Park forms a key part of the regeneration of Eastside, linking the city centre with the tourist attractions of Millennium Point and the new Birmingham City University campus.
Eastside City Park has an active Friends group, who help the City Council to look after the Park as well as develop activities particularly in the summer months (click here to find out more and join!).
